Last day my friends, my wife Neda and I decided to travel to north part of Iran from Tehran my hometown to see the only individual of western population of Siberian Crane in Iran. But in early morning my cellphone rang and one of my friend who wanted to give us a ride said "the road is snowy and police my stop cars and close the road. So, I prefer not to drive and postpone the trip to next week."
I'm still hopeful to see this Siberian Crane named Omid (means hope in Farsi) before it is too late since it usually returns to his home in Siberia in late February. In fact it is hard to find him in large area in private lands where poaching waterfowls is done in silence without a single shot. However other family members of Omid the single male Siberian Crane were killed by shots of poachers during last 20 years. This is a sad story will ending with death of Omid and extincting the western population of Siberian Crane.
